Chris Charlton, MA, (born July 4, 1963 in Dortmund, Germany) is a Canadian politician. She was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the 2006 federal election. She represents the electoral district of Hamilton Mountain for the New Democratic Party (NDP). She immigrated to Canada in 1975.
Chris Charlton is married to Brian Charlton, a former Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) who represented Hamilton Mountain in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1977 to 1995.
Chris Charlton previously ran for the NDP in Hamilton Mountain in the 1997 and 2004 federal elections, but was defeated both times by now-retired Liberal Party MP Beth Phinney.
She also ran provincially for the NDP in Hamilton Mountain in the 1999 and 2003 Ontario elections, but was defeated both times by Ontario Liberal Party MPP and current provincial cabinet minister Marie Bountrogianni.
