Chris Broach

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chris Broach (b. September 5, 1976) was one of the guitarists/vocalists in the 90's emo band Braid. Broach became known as the "Yeah" guy because he was often yelling or shouting "Yeah!" during Braid's songs. Broach came to one of their shows and the band decided that they wanted him [citation needed].

While a member of Braid, Broach started playing in his own side project called The Firebird Suite. After Braid disbanded Broach continued playing in The Firebird Band (formerly the Firebird Suite and Firebird Project). He played guitar for Life At Sea on the Is there a signal coming through? album and fronted the band L'Spaerow which put out one album on his own label - the label is Lucid Records - which he founded in 2002.

Broach is currently working on a solo record (due in early 2007 - on Lucid Records), a new album for The Firebird Band (due in late spring 2007), & is also currently working (vocals and guitar) with a Spanish band, Festa d'Estate [1].

Broach and former Hey Mercedes guitarist Mike Schumaker are involved in a new project entitled The Blakhiv [2]. They released their first EP on Lucid Records in 2006.

Broach was featured as a character in the original version of emogame which had members of prominent members of emo bands as characters in a story and an online game.

Chris Broach currently resides in Deerfield, Illinois.
