Chris Beardsley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris Beardsley (born 28 February 1984 in Derby) is an English footballer who plays for Mansfield Town, and is currently recovering from a broken leg that sidelined him for almost the entire 2005-06 season.
Beardsley began his career at Mansfield, and is now in his second spell at the club, having also had short spells at Doncaster and Kidderminster. In his first spell at Mansfield, Beardsley was regarded as a promising striker. However, he received little playing time, and was allowed to join Doncaster in the summer of 2004. He failed to make an impact at Doncaster, and moved to Kidderminster in December the same year.
He played regularly for Kidderminster, scoring five goals, but opted to return to Mansfield in the summer of 2005 following Kidderminster's relegation to the Nationwide Conference. However, his season came to an abrupt end against local rivals Notts County on 29 August that year, when he collided with County goalkeeper (and former Mansfield teammate) Kevin Pilkington and suffered a broken shin bone that ruled him out for the rest of the season.
