Choueifat is a small town in Lebanon which is famous for being the birthplace of the International School of Choueifat. The very first Choueifat school was started here in the year 1886. Choueifat is a Druze enclave on the southern edge of Beirut. Choueifat lies on the eastern side of the Airport, south of Beirut. The local population of the city is made up of mostly Druze and Christians, but in the last 25 years, many Beirutis have moved in to escape the capital's high rents, while many southerners have found Choueifat a good alternative to the crowded southern suburb known as Ad-Dahiyah.
