Chocolate Skateboards

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chocolate skateboards is a company that sponsors numerous skateboarders, many of them professionals. The company originated as a sister company to Girl, but was meant to be an ethnic team/sponsor, sponsoring only African-American skaters. Since then, Chocolate has defied these roots and has gone on to sponsoring many more skateboarders. Chocolate manufactures mainly decks and clothing, and accessories such as hats and even a radio. They also make curb wax, hardware, and bearings.

Chocolate released the video "Hot Chocolate" in 2003, documenting their 2003 tour.

Chocolate also released two other skate videos that are available in the Girl Skate Video Box Set. "Las Nueve Vidas De Paco" (The Nine Lives of Paco) was released in 1995. The video is in Spanish with English subtitles. Apart from the skating, the video follows a loosely fitted old western atmosphere with an intentionally lame, hard-to-follow storyline.

"The Chocolate Tour," much like the aforementioned "Hot Chocolate," is another video documenting Chocolate's 1999 tour. Again fitted with a lame story, the Chocolate crew is the last hope to save it's Girl counterpart.

Their current team features pros Marc Johnson, Richard Mulder, Gino Iannucci, Chris Roberts, Mike York, Chico Brenes, Kenny Anderson, Scott Johnston, Daniel Castillo, Justin Eldrige, Devine Calloway, and Anthony Pappalardo.
