Chocolate Salty Balls

Chocolate Salty Balls are a confection produced by the character Chef on the television series, South Park, in the episode "Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls".

The name of the snack leads to a series of double entendres involving Chef's testicles. Cartman says, "I love your chocolate salty balls, Chef!" This is followed by Kyle who gushes, "You've got the best balls in the whole world, Chef". Chef, who was voiced by singer Isaac Hayes, also sings a related song that continues the sexual references:

Say everybody, have you seen my balls?

They're big and salty and brown.

If you ever need a quick pick-me-up

Just stick my balls in your mouth.

Oooh, suck on my chocolate, salty balls.

(Put 'em in your mouth!)

Put 'em in your mouth and suck 'em and suck 'em...

During the same episode, Chef initially attempts to solicit a line of fudge-based confections entitled, "Fudge 'Ems" (cookies with a fudge center), "Fudge This" (double chocolate versions of Fudge 'Ems), "Go Fudge Yourself" (low calorie), "I Don't Really Give a Flying Fudge" (all-natural) and "I Just Went and Fudged Your Momma"; after the latter is named, Cartman remarks, "Geez, he sure ran that one into the ground".

The song, titled "Chocolate Salty Balls (PS I Love You)" also appears on Chef Aid: The South Park Album (see also List of Chef's songs (South Park)). It reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart, was number 1 in the Irish singles chart, and was also a hit in Australia.

The lyrics of the song reveal the recipe:

two tablespoons of cinnamon
two or three egg whites
half a stick of butter, melted
stick it all in a bowl (baby)
stir it with a wooden spoon
mix in a cup of flour (you'll be in heaven soon)
a quarter of a cup of unsweetened chocolate
half a cup of brandy
a bag or two of sugar
just a pinch of vanilla
grease up a cookie sheet (cause I hate when my balls stick)
preheat the oven to 350°F (and give that spoon a lick)

Notably, this recipe does not mention salt as an ingredient, although butter has a somewhat salty taste.

The show (which at the time was still relatively new) received criticism for possibly going too far when few people understood that 'balls' truly meant spheres, but Trey Parker reminded them that Chef isn't actually trying to get people to suck his genitals, he's just trying to sell his chocolate candy.
