CHOPS

CHOPS, whose real name is Scott Jung, is a Philadelphia-based Asian American hip-hop producer and rapper. He is well-known for his production and his remixes especially on mixtapes.

[edit] Mountain Brothers

He started with the group Mountain Brothers, a Philly-based rap group consisting of 3 Asian-American rappers. They released 3 albums including "Self Vol. 1" and "Triple Crown". The group did a commercial for Nike in which they played the voices of NBA stars.

CHOPS produced for an ESPN X-Games commercial which featured Snoop Dogg.

CHOPS' album Virtuosity was his solo debut. It featured collaborations with hip-hop megastar Kanye West, Grammy-nominated rapper Planet Asia, Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon, and Talib Kweli. The song "The Remedy" features Dave Ghetto. Kanye West and CHOPS are on the mixtape "Changing Lanes" (DJ Clue).

CHOPS has been busy in the mixtape scene, working with southern artists. He has released the series It's Going Down with DJ Lt. Dan. The first was hosted by Paul Wall. The second had Bun B as its host. The third is hosted by Chamillionaire. This mixtapes features remixes of hit songs by Ludacris, 3-6 Mafia, Nelly, and other well-known artists. "It's Going Down" won mixtape of the year for 2005.

CHOPS production is featured on deceased Wu Tang Clan rapper ODB's Osirus mixtape. One of the songs produced by CHOPS is "Downsouth".

CHOPS produced the song My Lowrider on The Game's mixtape Stop Snitchin Stop Lyin which in addition to The Game, features Paul Wall, Ice Cube, Lil Rob, Techniec, Chingy and E-40.

The new Fabolous mixtape Loso's Way contains the track Smokin' and Sippin' featuring Fabolous, Paul Cain and Magnificent. This was produced by CHOPS.

CHOPS production will be on the soundtrack for the movie Dark, which will be released in late March.

CHOPS' latest works can be found on "National Champs 2006", part of the "It's Going Down" series. It is hosted by Paul Wall and DJ Clue.

CHOPS did a remix of Jay-Z's single "Show Me What You Got", currently floating around the internet.
