Monochloroacetic acid, CClH2COOH, (chloroacetic acid, chloracetic acid, chloroethanoic acid or monochloroethanoic acid) is a carboxylic acid which is formed by chlorinating acetic acid. It can also be formed by hydrolyzing Trichloroethylene.
