Chkhalta

Chkhalta is a principal village in Upper Abkhazia (formerly known as the Kodori Valley), western Georgian autonomous republic of Abkhazia whose two third has been controlled by the Abkhaz separatist government in Sukhumi since 1993. The headquarters of De-jure Government of Abkhazia is located in Chkhalta. The village, and the area in general, are currently undergoing a major rehabilitation program.
