Chisbury is located some five miles south-west of Hungerford and seven miles south-east of Marlborough, near the Kennet and Avon Canal and the West of England Main Line railway to the West Country. Position: grid reference SU278645

St Michael's in Little Bedwyn is the parish church. A mediaeval chapel is situated next to Chisbury Manor. It is now a listed building, and protected by English Heritage.

Chisbury is part of Little Bedwyn civil parish, which has an elected parish council. It falls within the areas of Kennet District Council and Wiltshire County Council. All three councils are responsible for different aspects of local government.

In the 1991 census, the parish had a population of 286.
