Chinen, Okinawa

Chinen (知念村; -son) was a village located in Shimajiri district, Okinawa, Japan.

On January 1, 2006, Sashiki, Chinen, Tamagusuku, and Ōzato merged to form the city of Nanjō.

As of 2003, the village had an estimated population of 5,947 and the density of 602.53 persons per km². The total area is 9.87 km².
