China White is more of a musical collective than a traditional band. The two core members Liam Croker and Antony Egerton have spent the last eighteen months working with a wide range of producers and musicians, while developing what has now become the unique and very recognisable China White sound.
They are influenced by bands such as Massive Attack, Tricky, Funkadelic, Sly And The Family Stone and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.
Liam is the vocalist and lyricist of the band whose vision and imagination brings a sinister street edge to their sound. Antony is the technical side of China White, he provides the beats, samples and lush soundscapes which gives their music a dark dream like vibe, while still managing to maintain a hard funky edge to their music.
China White has recorded two E.Ps, had two of their songs remixed and are currently writing and recording new material. Liam and Antony have recently joined up with Jon Lord(Giutars)& Adam 'The Beat'(percussion)to take 'China White' on the road.After playing a number of succesfull gigs around Manchester and home town Warrington,'China White' are quickly establishing themselves as one of the most original and unique bands on the N.West Music Scene. Since playing live in late August 06 'China White' have been aired on Clint Boons XFM Manchester radio show, had a certain up and coming band asking them to be their suppot band at a top London gig, been featured in local music magazine 'Warrington Music Collective' which is out November 06 and have signed a distribution deal with toronto based record label 'SoMuchSoulRecords'. Things are really starting happen for this band and 2007 should be a really busy year for 'ChinaWhite'.
