This is a list of major political scandals in Chile:

"Scorpion" scandal (1809) - A smuggling scandal that caused the fall of the Royal Governor and hastened Chilean Independence

Beheaded's Case (1985) - A brutal murder that caused the resignation of the chief of police and changes in the political and legal structure of the government
Burnt Alive Case (1986) - Two youngsters burnt alive during a political protest by a military patrol
