Children First Now

Children first now, international campaign in defense of children right is a leftist organization that is active in children rights.
This organization is very close to Worker-Communist Party of Iran and is a defacto part of its network of front organizations.
Just like any organization in opposition to Islamic Republic Of Iran, This organization cant have any legal base in Iran and is mainly based in Sweden but it claim that it have its own activists in Iran.

Children first now is an offshoot from “Children first” which was formed by Mansoor Hekmat and Soraya Shahabi.
After the major split of WPI in August 2004 almost all of side organizations of WPI faced problems and splits and this happened in “Children First” too. The trigger for this split happened when Soraya Shahabi (secretary of children firs) sacked Amir Tavakoli (as editor of the children first paper) and few other principals .
Finally some of the activist of Children First left the organisation and formed “Children First now”.
After the foundation Soraya Shahabi issued a declaration and declared that “Children first now” is a “fake organization”.

Children First regards the physical and emotional well-being of all children, their welfare and their free developement as the most paramount priority under all circumstances and views the position of the child as a fundamental measure of the worth of any society and culture. The way a society treats its children is the most telling testimony to its humanity and liberty. Children must come first, above any national, economic, political, ideological, religious and cultural considerations and interests.
Children First is an international campaign, both in its outlook and in the scope of its activities. We do not recognise any geographical, political, national, ethnic, cultural and religious barriers and boundaries to our defense of the rights of children. We see children’s rights as universal. Children First endevours to expand its activities to include as many countries and communities as possible
