[edit] Plot summary
The episode opens with Renton tearing through the decks of the Gekko, finding Maurice, Maeter, and Linck drawing graffiti in one of the storage rooms. Their latest prank on him is some graffiti on his own face while he slept. Their snide behavior is enough to drive Renton to violence, but Eureka's presence prevents him from actually retaliating.
Holland and Hap tell Renton to clear out the delivery list for a load of lift board wax, and decide to simply sell the stuff at Verdes. They would have to pass by a UF military radar station, but the Gekko main computer includes a compac interference device that can render her invisible to enemy radar.
After another prank by the children, Eureka asks Renton how he was disciplined when he was little, and he tells her that as far back as he could remember, his sister was his guardian.
The children, while setting up another prank for Renton, decide to go looking for a long cable. They find one in the main computer room, but Linck trips over other cables, pulling them from their sockets. Linck insists that they would be kicked out if anyone found out, spoiling their plan to keep anyone, including Renton, away from their "Mama". Overhearing this, Renton remembers when he had caused his sister some grief when he learned she had a boyfriend.
When the bridge crew realizes that the computer and interference device are down, Renton sneaks the children and the wax onto the Nirvash and proceeds to the nearby radar station to blind it with the wax, and demonstrate how real graffiti is done. They are attacked by KLFs, but the arrival of Gekkostate's LFOs and Eureka herself repels the enemy. Renton is thrown in the brig for his unauthorized mission, and Eureka's children join him there, apologizing for their behavior.
[edit] Significance
Renton's recollection of his reaction to his sister's new boyfriend is alluded to later in the series[1].
Although they accept Renton to some extent, the children remain fiercely protective of their adopted mother, especially if she is harmed or threatened. They do not fully accept Renton into their lives until very late in the series[2].
