[edit] Promotional Article??

This may be a promotional article about a company with which user Hellokarl is closely associated. Would a more experienced editor please look at this and decide whether it is complaint with WikiPolicy? Pzavon 16:35, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree, it's definitely concerning under the guidelines at WP:VANITY. Let's ask Hellokarl to comment on this.  — JVinocur (talk • contribs) 01:12, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

I've removed the gratuitous stuff about the boss of the place and left the actual useful fact stuff in there. This is hard to find the right style to write the article. When the article is about a commerical entity there is a always going to be an element of self promotion to it. However the company is also shaping government's chemical risk management approach and laws in several countries in Asia, including China, so it is bigger than just a commercial entity. Any help on how to write this in a more suitable style will be welcomed, or if it needs to be removed then it needs to be removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hellokarl (talkcontribs).

Well, I think you're right, in the case where someone affiliated with a commercial entity writes an article about it. That's why the recommendation is to let other, unaffiliated, editors, write such articles.  — JVinocur (talk • contribs) 15:10, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

That's a good point. The only catch was that no-one had. I hoped by posting a nucleus to start something then others who are interested might be willing to come in and patch it up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hellokarl (talkcontribs).

Do you have reason to believe there are such others? Are there verifiable sources of information available for other editors to be able to contribute to this article without original research?
