[edit] Sports

The Cherry Hill High School East Cougars participate in the nineteen-member Olympic Conference, which consists of public and private high schools located in Burlington County and Camden County. East's basketball coach is John Valore.

The Cougars are ranked #10 in The Courier-Post's "Large School Top 10."[citation needed] This is the first time the Cougars have been ranked since 1996, when they were ranked in the top 5 during the preseason. The Cougars have clinched a spot in the South Jersey Group IV playoffs for the first time since the early 1990's. The Cougars play their home games at the township stadium, Jonas C. Morris Stadium, which they share with Cherry Hill High School West. Annually, the Cougars face rival Cherry Hill West on Thanksgiving morning. The winner of the contest receives the Al DiBart Memorial Trophy. The 2006 game was postponed until Saturday morning. The Cougars defeated the Lions 34-16 to reclaim the trophy.

Cherry Hill High School East also has a separate club ice hockey team as a member of the South Jersey High School Ice Hockey League. Every Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, the club plays the Cherry Hill West ice hockey club for the Golden Skate award.
