Chennai Open

The Chennai Open ATP Tennis championships held in Chennai, India has been in existence since 1997. After starting out in April, it was moved to the first week of January in 2000. [1]

Previously the tournament was called Gold Flake Open and TATA Open after the main sponsors. The current event is co-sponsored by the Government of Tamil Nadu for five years beginning from 2005. The Games are played at the hard-court SDAT Tennis Stadium in Nungambakkam. It is South Asia's only ATP Tennis event.

The prize money is US $400,000.
