The Chengdu Super-10 (also known as the J-10C) is a planned variant of the Chengdu J-10 multirole fighter jet of the People's Liberation Army Air Force.
It will feature a "more powerful engine, thrust-vector control, stronger airframe and passive phased-array radar."
The aircraft will use the Russian AL-31FN engine after China placed the original order for a second batch of AL-31FN engines ($300 million USD) in late 2005. The Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG has also been contracted to render assistance to the Chinese design house.
