Chemwatch is based in the historic Kynaston building in Victoria (Australia). This building was the Railway Commisioners house in the 1880's, and has been variously a hospital and an abandoned shell until Chemwatch moved in and restored it. It has many features that are similar to the Spencer Street railway station, prior to its extensively renovation in 20052006.

Chemwatch has a multicultural staff, with experts in a wide cross-section of the world's languages, from American and Armenian to Vietnamese. Over 20 different languages are represented by native speakers.
