Cheesy Poofs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cheesy Poofs is a snack similar to Cheetos in the animated series South Park. The name is a play on "cheese puffs" (a real snack) and "poof".
Eric Cartman has a great love for Cheesy Poofs. In the first season, he can frequently be heard saying, "Yeah I want Cheesy Poofs." In one episode, Cartman became the spokesperson for Cheesy Poofs after winning the opportunity in a contest in which the participants sang the Cheesy Poof theme song. The theme song is set to the tune of All Things Considered, the theme for the evening news show on National Public Radio, with the following lyrics:
- I love Cheesy Poofs
- You love Cheesy Poofs
- If we didn't eat Cheesy Poofs
- We'd be lame!
Food Network host Alton Brown's latest book, I'm Just Here for More Food, contains a recipe for a cheese-flavored bread called a Cheesy Poof. The introduction to the recipe makes reference to "a little boy in South Park, Colorado".
Actual boxes of Cheesy Poofs containing a single serving of the cheese flavored snacks have been distributed in the past.
In the movie Idle Hands, Seth Green's character Mick, is on the couch in the basement of Elden Henson's character Pnub's house, where Mick is trying to throw Cheesy Poofs into Pnub's mouth.
