Chance Hughes was born on a Thursday. He was raised in Smackover, a small town in South Arkansas where he grew to master the many trades of local residents.

Chance lived in the same house in Smackover from the time he was born until he was 16 years old. During this time he spent a lot of time traveling with his father, John Hughes, around the United States to various places. Going as far west as Santa Fe, east as Massachusetts, north as Buffalo, and south as San Antonio. Chance never lost his desire to travel, for on occasion he longs to drive as far as the road will take him. Chance had key influential individuals during his childhood. Aside from his family, Blake Mcmenis, his friend from birth was by his side for most of his childhood. From walking to town through a flooded ditch to receiving scorn for disobeying a non-existent curfew, Blake and Chance experienced a well rounded childhood. Chance found comfort in being in the presence of his family and friends. The mother, Janice, always willing to give positive criticism made challenges an ease to overcome.
Chance has also been known by various nicknames, ranging from "hippy" (due to his long, brown hair) to "Jesus" (also for his long, brown hair). He has also been given a hard time for military aspirations, including joining the Navy ROTC, which he has altered his long brown hair to accommodate.

Chance received most of his elementary and high school education at Norphlet High School, where his mother holds the position of High School Librarian. From kindergarten through his sophomore year he attended Norphlet and learned much more than the required curriculum. He attended the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts his junior and senior year in high school. While at ASMSA was on close terms with many prominent students and faculty members. Many of those relationships are still well nurtured. Some of the prominent faculty members include Dr. Fred Buzen, Dr. Don Baker, Dr. Janet Hugo, and many others. He is currently enrolled as a freshman studying college courses including: World Civilization, Calculus II, American History, Psychology, and Business Law.

Chance is a guitar musician who focuses more on traditional music from the mid-20th century. He is plays soccer, ping pong, and basketball. He is also involved in on campus clubs and organizations involving leadership roles and Christian worship.
