Chaim Sheba (19081971) Israeli physician, most notable for overseeing Ringworm Incorporated in the 1950s and the radiological experimentation in which 100,000 Moroccan Sephardi children were exposed to 35,000 times the maximum x-ray dose. Chaim Sheba was given 7 x-ray machines by the U.S. military and 300 million Israeli liras a year (equivilent to several billion dollars) by the American government to fund the research. The parents of the children were often told they were on a school trip while they were experimented on or told the children were being treated for ring worm. 6000 children died initially and most died or are dying of cancer and other illnesses caused by the experiments. The radiation was intense enough to alter the DNA of the children, causing genetic defects in future generations. The incident has been called the "Shephardi Holocaust" by some. In 2004 an Israeli news channel filmed a documentary called "The Ringworm Children", directed by David Belhassen and Asher Hemias, exposing the experiments. Barry Chamish, author of Save Israel comments on the film. (copied from the article by gidonb 12:05, 19 December 2005 (UTC), THIS IS NOT MY TEXT)

This information seems to be taken from the Canadian-Israeli conspiracy and UFO theorist Barry Chamish and "alternative" news sources. If no credible sources are given for this yet unknown "holocaust", we can not add this information to the article. gidonb 12:05, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

- http://prisonplanet.com/articles/october2005/281005ringwormchildren.htm - This is a secondary source, referencing a documentary "The Ringworm Children (translated in Hebrew as 100,000 Rays), directed by David Belhassen and Asher Hemias, recently won the prize for "best documentary" at the Haifa International film festival". I haven't seen this myself and don't know anything one way or the other about these claims, but it should be possible to track down more info. - 200.141.119.254 03:12, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

-- all info seems to currently derive from this documentary, so apparently our judgment on these claims will have to be based on it. - 200.141.119.254 04:37, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
-- I've found a further source with more details about this case. With this in mind, I've rewritten the section about the "ringworm children" to state clearly what is definitely known, and what is claimed to have happened but has not been proven, replacing the previous text which stated this as a proven fact (which appears to be incorrect). I realise that this may need rework in future as more facts become available, but in the meantime this is probably the best we have. - 193.129.184.12 18:04, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
