Chaya Arbel

Chaya Arbel (Germany, 1921) is a female Israeli composer.

Arbel studied composition in Germany, until she immigrated to the British mandate of Palestine (1936), where she worked in agriculture. Only 25 years later, Arbel could resume her composition studies, with professor Leon Schidlowsky. Arbel remains a member of kibbutz Hama'apil.

Arbel won the Israeli ACUM Prize with Dialogue for Clarinet and Orchestra.
