Chattanooga State Technical Community College

Chattanooga State Technical Community College (or "Chatt State" for short) is a two year community college located in Chattanooga, Tennessee emphasizing technical programs. Operated by the Tennessee Board of Regents, it also offers college parallel, continuing education, and community service programs.

Originally known as the Chattanooga State Technical Institute upon its founding in 1963, it opened as Tennessee's first technical college and Southeast Tennessee’s first public institution of higher education.

In 1973, the college was renamed Chattanooga State Technical Community College. The Tennessee State Area Vocational-Technical School merged with the College in 1981.

In 2004, the college had an enrollment of approximately 8000 full and part time students.
