Chartered Institute of Environmental Health

Founded in 1883, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is a professional and educational body, dedicated to the promotion of environmental health and to encouraging the highest possible standards in the training and the work of environmental health professionals. Located in the UK, the CIEH has approximately 9,800 members worldwide, the majority being based in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. As well as providing services and information to its members, the CIEH also advises government departments on environmental health and is consulted by them on proposed legislation relevant to the work of environmental health professionals. Its mission is to maintain, enhance and promote improvements in public and environmental health.
