Charmed (group)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charmed was a Norwegian girl band.

The group Charmed made their debut in the Norwegian national final of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "My Heart Goes Boom", written by Morten Henriksen and Tore Madsen. Charmed, being three girls in their mid-twenties, had already obtained a vast experience from various aspects of the show and entertainment industry.

The members were Oddrun Valestrand, Lise Monica Nygård, Hanne Kristine Haugsand, and the group was a result of the three girls' common passion for music. Valestrand is a professional dancer, and an allround performer. She is also a competent violinist. She has performed in numerous plays and musicals, and has previously worked both as a stunt-woman and a model. Nygård has a thorough musical education. She writes her own lyrics, and has choreographed a number of stage shows. She has won the title "Norwegian champion of Freestyle/Disco dance" two years running. Haugsand, the youngest, is like the other two a trained dancer as well as a singer, and has in addition considerable experience as a costume designer. Hanne currently works as a vocal instructor and is a profound piano player. Charmed held three very different personalities with their own characteristic approach to and individual experience from show business. Together they formed a band of musical depth, which was unique, exiting and of high quality.

After winning the Melodi Grand Prix they were a favourite for the Eurovision but only reached the 11th position.

Hanne participated in 2006 solo in the Melodi Grand Prix with Heaven's in your eys but didn't proceed to the final.

Lise Monica also featured in a duet as a guest vocalist on the drum and bass ballad Without U featured on the LP Poquito Loco by Costa released in Greece and internationally.
