[edit] Trivia

  • Many fans affectionately refer to Charlotte as "CharMar," a portmanteau of her first and last names.
  • Upon receiving a lap-keyboard as a gift from a fan outside a show in PA, she promptly sat down on the pavement, and performed "In Parentheses", to the delight and surprise of her audience.
  • Her song "I'm Normal, Please Date Me" is based on an experience where she went on one date with a guy and, when he didn't call her back, she drove around the city looking for his car. Upon finding it, she lost her nerve and just sat there. She wrote the song in the car at that point. She jokes that she should not perform the song anymore now that she is married, but does so anyway. In a self-confessed attempt to out-do herself, she wrote the song "Uncomfortable Things", which she now plays live often.
  • Charlotte's song "Beautiful Life" appears in the hit computer game The Sims 2: University expansion pack, but she translated it into and recorded it in the game's fictional language of Simlish.
  • Charlotte co-wrote and recorded "Glass Breaker" with The Crystal Method. The song appears on the London Movie Soundtrack.
  • Charlotte recently released several "rarity" cds. These contain previously unreleased or hard-to-find material and sparked something of a scavenger hunt, since they were being given out at certain shows. One of the songs "Cool Killer" is home-recorded...and features Charlotte scolding her dog Hugo in the background.
