Founded in 1970, Charlotte Latin School is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational, college-preparatory, day school serving 1368 students in transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade. Charlotte Latin welcomes students and families of all races, colors, religions, and national origins.

The school's mission is to encourage individual development and civility in their students by inspiring them to learn, by encouraging them to serve others, and by offering them many growth-promoting opportunities. The school also possesses the world's largest bronze hawk statue. In 2005, Charlotte Latin won the state championship in football, volleyball, and swimming. So far in 2006, the school has remained state champions in football and volleyball. Charlotte Latin is well on its way to winning the Wachovia Cup once again.
