From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charlie Day (b. February 9, 1976 in New York) is an American actor most well known for his starring role as Charlie Kelly on the FX television series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for which he is also a writer and executive producer.

Day has also appeared for five episodes on Third Watch as Michael Boscorelli. He has also appeared in several films and television shows.

He is married to actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who plays "The Waitress" on Sunny. Ironically, the character Charlie Kelly is hopelessly attracted to her, to the point of stalking and obsession, but she does not feel the same way towards him and is increasingly infatuated with Dennis Reynolds, the vain, shallow member of their gang.

Day graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and attended Merrimack College in Massachusetts.
