Charlestown High School is located in the northeastern part of Charlestown, Indiana. Its teams are known as the Pirates, a pattern that descends down to Charlestown's middle and elementary schools.
On November 14, 2006, the Greater Clark County Schools board voted 7-0 to build a new Charlestown High School. The new school will comprise of 100 acres (as opposed to the current building's 30-40 acres) and is intended to educate 900 students.
