Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority or CARTA is a bus system in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. It serves Charleston and some of its suburbs with 31 routes and a fleet of 54 buses. The system operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CARTA has hopes of expanding the transportation in Charleston with adding more routes and hopefully getting Charleston a light rail system. To attract riders CARTA has designated one Friday of each month where all riders will ride for free all day to see how the Mass Transit company is growing in size.
