Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap

The Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually at Hollywood Park. Until 1999 it was named the Hollywood Invitational Turf Handicap, often just referred to as the Hollywood Invitational Handicap. The race was renamed in honor of the legendary trainer Charlie Whittingham (1913-1999) who saddled many memorable winners at Hollywood Park and whose seven victories in the Hollywood Invitational Turf Handicap race is the most for any trainer.

The race is a major turf event and a lead up to the Breeders' Cup Turf. A Grade I event, it is run at a distance of 1¼ miles and currently carries a purse of $350,000.
