Charles O'Neal

Charles O'Neal (b. January 6, 1904 in Raeford, North Carolina - August 29, 1996 in Los Angeles, California) was a film and television screenwriter. The father of actor Ryan O'Neal and screenwriter/actor Kevin O'Neal and grandfather to Tatum O'Neal and Griffin O'Neal. As a screenwriter, his first film was the Val Lewton-produced film, The Seventh Victim. O'Neal started out as an actor before writing for the screen and eventually television, including the television programs Lassie and The Untouchables. He died at the age of 92 on August 29, 1996, in Los Angeles, California.
