Charles Moffett

Charles Moffett (6 September 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas - 14 February 1997) was a jazz drummer. He is probably best known for his part in Ornette Coleman's trio in the 1960s and 70s.

Moffett's drumming features on key recordings of the Coleman Trio, the 1962 Town Hall Concert, the 1965 Golden Circle recordings and Who's Crazy?, as well as on Archie Shepp's Four For Trane.

Moffett also performed on vibraphone and trumpet.

His son is double bassist Charnett Moffett.
