Charles McCarthy (1873 - March 26, 1921) was a coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team for the 1897 and 1898 seasons.
McCarthy was born in Brockton, Massachusetts. He graduated from Brown University in 1896 with a Bachelor of Philosphy degree and became the Georgia coach immediately after graduating. During his two seasons, McCarthy's team compiled a record of 6 wins, 3 losses, and no ties.
After his two years at Georgia, McCarthy became a legislative librarian in the state of Wisconsin and died there in 1921.
