Charles Litton Sr.

Charles Litton Sr. was an American inventor and entrepreneur who assisted Raytheon in the development of the magnetron tube.

Litton, a radio amateur, learned to blow glass vacuum tubes while at Stanford University. He started his own business in 1932 and invented a tool to mass-produce glass radio transmitting tubes. The business eventually became Litton Industries, one of the earliest large electronics companies.
