Charles I Halt

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lieutenant Colonel (later Colonel) Charles I Halt (ret.) Deputy Base Commander of RAF/USAF NATO Bentwaters/Woodbridge. The Rendlesham Forest Incident occurred under his deputy command and was an important witness to the Rendlesham Forest Incident. Halt took a patrol of men into the forest where they witnessed several objects under intelligent control. In January 1981 he composed an official Air Force memorandum [1] listing details of the events. The memo was then dispatched to the Ministry of Defence. Halt also made an audio tape recording of the incident. [2]

In 1991 he made his first public appearance in a television documentary where he confirmed the authenticity of the Rendlesham Forest Incident. The author of the definitive account of the Rendlesham event, entitled You Can't Tell the People, by Georgina Bruni, first talked to him in 1997. He has also appeared in at least three Television Documentaries given below.

Halt has said that he is working on his own book of the incident but won't tell everything, saying that the full truth would be too shocking to the public's sense of reality.
