General Sir Charles Howard KB (c. 1738 – 26 August 1765) was a British soldier and politician.

The son of the 3rd Earl of Carlisle and Lady Anne de Vere Capell. Howard was the Governor of Fort George and of Fort Augustus. Colonel of the 19th Foot, he commanded Brigades in the Battle of Dettingen and in the Battle of Fontenoy. In 1765, he was promoted to the rank of General. Howard was also Member of Parliament (MP) for Carlisle. He was a Knight of the Order of the Bath and died unmarried and childless.
