Charles Beilby Stuart-Wortley, 1st Baron Stuart of Wortley

Charles Beilby Stuart-Wortley, 1st Baron Stuart of Wortley PC (15 September 1851 – 24 April 1926), English statesman, was the son of James Archibald Stuart-Wortley and grandson of James Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie.
He attended school at Rugby and college at Balliol College, Oxford.
In 1880 Stuart-Wortley was the first Conservative to be elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Sheffield, and when this constituency was broken up for the 1885 general election he was elected as MP for the new Sheffield Hallam constituency. He was made Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department in 1885, and again from 1886 to 1892, and was a member of the Privy Council.
He was created Baron Stuart of Wortley in 1917, the title becoming extinct on his death
