Charcas (Audiencia)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charcas was an Intendency (Audiencia) of the Viceroyalty of the River Plate covering much of modern Bolivia. Its seat of government was the city of Charcas, now known as Sucre. Charcas sent deputies to the Congress of Tucumán of 9 July 1816 which declared the independence of the provinces of the Viceroyalty.
There is now a Charcas Province in Bolivia.
