Chapayevsk

Chapayevsk (Russian: Чапа́евск) is a town in Samara Oblast, Russia, forty kilometers from the city of Samara. The town is located on the right bank of Chapayevskaya River, which is a tributary of the Volga River.
A settlement was founded in the area in 1909 per Nicholas II's decree that a military plant be established there. In 1927, the settlement became the town of Chapayevsk.
