Chaos is a French language movie released in 2001, written and directed by Coline Serreau.
Currently, a remake of this movie in English, to star Aishwarya Rai and Meryl Streep, is planned for release in 2007.[1][2]

Contrary to her husband, Hélène will devote herself to help an French-Algerian prostitute, Malika, who seeks to escape from her abusers.
A bourgeois couple Hélène and Paul spot a prostitute, Malika, running from her pimps, but offer her no assistance. They witness her brutally beaten, but flee from the scene. Later, filled with guilt over the incident, Hélène seeks out Malika in hospital. She stops work and leaves her family responsibilities to take care of Malika, who lies in a coma. As Malika recovers, the two plan Malika's freedom and revenge on her abusers. Hélène's life changes forever, as the selfishness of her husband and son becomes apparent.
