Channel 8 - Tucumán
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
LRK 458 TV Channel 8 is the first and only privately-owned free-to-air channel in Tucumán, Argentina. Created in 1983 as Televisora Tucumana Color (TTC) by a group of local investors, the station rapidly became very popular among viewers who had had only one option (Channel 10) until then. During the 1990s, the station was part of the so-called Grupo 8 de Prensa which included a newspaper (El Periódico) and two radio stations.
Channel 8 is currently a Telefé affiliate, therefore broadcasting the network’s shows, but also including some local programming. Its headquarters and studios are located in downtown San Miguel de Tucumán, and its transmitter and antenna in Villa Nougues.
