Changji

Changji (Chinese: 昌吉; pinyin: Chāngjí) is a county-level city of about 192,000 inhabitants (in 1999), in the Region of Xinjiang of the People's Republic of China. Changji is the seat of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture.
Excluding Chinese folk-religionists, the religion with the largest number of adherents in Changji is Islam.
A Federation of Industry and Commerce is at Changji. In the area around Changji crop growing, animal husbandry and oil crop growing are important parts of the economy. Changji has a university.
