Chakora

Chakora, a kind of partridge, is a legendary bird described in Hindu mythology. She is believed to reside upon the beams of the moon, that is, the Chandra. The association of Chakora and Chandra have given rise to a number of folk love stories in north India revolving round them.

Chakora is a small village in the Chakwal District of Pakistan. The population settled here is the Kahut cast.
