CGEM is the local FOX afilliate to the Quincy-Hannibal-Keokuk Broadcasting Market. It is owned by Quincy Newspapers in Quincy, Illinois, and is operated by local NBC affiliate WGEM. The "CGEM" name is based on its original operators, Continental Cablevision (now Insight) and WGEM, which both established the channel in 1994, to fill a void in a market where there was no local over-the-air Fox affiliate.

CGEM can be seen on most cable systems in the market, as well as the digital signal of WGEM on digital channel 3. A newscast is provided weeknights at 9 PM called "CGEM News @ 9". It is anchored by Jake Miller who also anchors WGEM News at 5 & 10. WGEM Chief Meteorologist Rich Cain provides the forecast.
