CFXN-FM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CFXN is a new Canadian radio station, that launched in July of 2006 in North Bay, Ontario and has been branded Moose FM. It's slogan is that it is "North Bay's best of whatever."

The station was licensed on the basis of a proposal to air a country music format similar to that of the co-owned CHMT in Timmins, Ontario. It is unclear whether or how the March 2006 format change of that station from country to classic rock will affect CFXN.

Licensed by the CRTC in 2005, CFXN will broadcast at 106.3 FM.

The station is owned by Haliburton Broadcasting Group.

Although similar to other 'play what you want' stations, there are similarities between this and the exsisting North Bay stations, EZRock and The Fox. Complaints of the repetitive nature of the Fox has driven most local businesses to air the new Moose FM in their stores.
