[edit] Why are you leaving? You are one of our best contributors
Aw Charles. Why are you leaving? You are one of Wikipedia's best contributors and have done amazing work on royalty. I'm really really sort to see you go. Please don't leave permanently. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 18:58, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Ditto Jtdirl. I'd be extremely sad to see you go. Take a break if you must, but do please return. Mackensen (talk) 20:45, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
I am so sorry that the behaviour of some idiots on WP has driven you away. I have quit in the past because of it. In my experience, it is best not to let them drive you away. Take a break, then come back. If you need some help with those numbskulls people let me know. You are far too good a contributor to let them drive you away. I don't know if you know Latin, but you should remember the phrase Nill illigitimi carborundum. It means Don't let the bastards get you down.
With respect, admiration and friendship, FearÉIREANN\(caint) 03:55, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- Please don't leave. You have neglected to substantiate (or perhaps failed to make clear) a couple issues of importance to you; but do come back. (Deletion, should you want it, is accomplished by {{delete}} tags (probably both on the user and user talk pages (and I suppose the archives)) or an WP:MfD nomination; but please think about for a time.)

- Just got back from vacation. You are leaving? why, what happened, do you require help? Gryffindor 19:17, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Let me rephrase: It would do WP a service if you did, in a day or two, lodge a complaint against this harassment. Even if they were, by some chance, merely running into you because of common interests, they should know they have been thoughtless. If they are acting out of malice, they should be blocked. Either way, you would be improving WP for the rest of us. (And thank you; it's always nice to know one has been civil.) Septentrionalis 20:19, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
I know how it feels, because when I started here I ended up getting even wiki-stalked which was extremely unpleasant. You can read my talk archives on that. You should have contacted me and other users for help if you had trouble with little problems with other users (for example?). We have not always seen eye to eye but I think on most things we ended up agreeing and I enjoy working with you. It would really be a loss not only for me but Wikipedia in general if you left. Please think it over and if you need help on issues you feel overwhelmed with, you only need to ask :-) Gryffindor 21:07, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

- Well again, I find it very unfortunate. But I don't think you should just quit and let these things get you down. Take a break if you think it will make you feel better, I have done that before as well and it does help. But come back. Gryffindor 20:53, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi Charles. I notice that you are leaving. There are a lot of people out there that are shall we say "special". You get used to people, "taking you on" and playing games, especially if you get on to their pet topics. I find it best to go away to some other topic, but never forget, and return to the original topic, say 1 year later. Surprise surprise, many of your enemies will have found a new topic, and you can you start afresh. Wallie 14:40, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
