Cfred, preferably spelled C.Fred when the namespace allows, is the online ID I've been using since 1990.

I have been posting in Wikipedia so far on areas that interest me.

• Highways, specifically the Interstate Highway System and the U.S. Interstate Highways WikiProject.
• Sports, particularly football: Canadian football, Comparison of Canadian and American football, and American football rules.

I also contribute to Wikipedia by helping to maintain the article space, both in editing articles that I read (especially grammar, referencing and citations, etc.) and patrolling proposed deletions.

Dixie Classic (basketball)

I know the tournament was disbanded in 1960, but I'd like to find more about the dates, participants, etc. to have some content to the article before beginning.

Georgia 400-series state roads

The big content thing that appeals to me is a correspondence table between the assigned numbers and the signed routes. I'd like to find code or GDOT policy on using the 400-series numbers (even though it appears to be for any limited access freeway).

• Comparison of Canadian and American football

  Verify that the fractions are still readable on the Mac when I'm next logged in from one. The original text of the ball dimensions before fractions were substituted: "Canadian Football League rules specify that the long circumference of the ball should be not less than 27 3/4 inches (705 mm) nor greater than 28 1/4 inches (718 mm), while the short axis should be no less than 20 7/8 inches (530 mm) nor greater than 21 1/8 inches (537 mm). The dimensions of the official National Football League and National Collegiate Athletic Association football are specified by its manufacturer as: short circumference: 20 3/4 to 21 1/4 inches (527 to 540 mm), long circumference 27 3/4 to 28 1/2 inches (705 to 724 mm)."

I graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting. I am licensed as a CPA in Georgia. I am currently in public practice in the metro Atlanta area.

I also took a copyediting class in college. I did well in the class and enjoyed it.

[edit] Avocational and hobby interests

I am a high-school football official. Hence the interest above in articles about football and sports in general. I have also called varsity contests in volleyball and softball; I have called recreational-league baseball and basketball; and I called intramural soccer in college.

I am a rampant, if sometimes old-school, computer geek. I still frequent a few MUSHes, particularly TinyTIM; I chat more on there than on my AIM or similar messenger accounts. It shows when I get involved with an article headed to AfD here: my Usenet background leads to a discuss-first, vote-later philosophy, from the area of RFDs and CFVs (Requests for Discussion and Calls for Votes, respectively) on Usenet group creations. This sometimes run counter to the nominate-for-deletion-and-then-discuss philosophy that gets applied from time to time on Wikipedia.

I have two dogs, a black-and-tan short-hair Dachshund and a terrier mix who appears to have a large fraction of Jack Russell in her.
